Musings on the Most Ridiculous Band I Can't Stop Listening To

A Never-Before Seen Photo Of The Grateful Dead Onstage At Barton Hall, May 8th, 1977

I think this is during the Supplication jam. Definitely first set.

I’m pretty sure that is from Buffalo NY the following night. First Set for sure, but I think it is the show opening Help on the Way > Slipknot > Franklin’s Tower – see how Bob has still not fully shrugged off the towel he used to wear over his head when he took the stage, a homage to Stallone’s Rocky, which had made a big impression on him the year before.

  2. Almost looks like John Molo on drums?

  3. Don’t know what you’re taking, but that is not Barton Hall, let alone even the Grateful Dead. If you want to see real photos from Barton Hall 1977, go here:

      It is Barton Hall.

      • That picture up there is not from Barton Hall, 5/8/77 and that is not even the Grateful Dead. I was there.

Dude, it totally is. The black lady is Mrs. Donna Jean and the Black guy is Phil.

Bobby is Bobby, and Snake Tee-Shirt is Snake Tee-shirt.

I’m, like, a thousand percent positive.
