Musings on the Most Ridiculous Band I Can't Stop Listening To

A Quick One (While He’s Away)

Little reminder that TotD  (your Internet Pal) will be a guest on the Tales from the Golden Road show today at 4 pm EST, chatting with the great David Gans and the immortal Gary Lambert. (Gary Lambert is a Highlander.)

Channel 23 on your Sirius dial, and I do believe they offer a free trial if you just wanna dip in and out of the refreshing pool that is my mind.

Also, I’ll only be on for ten or fifteen minutes, so if you want to have a go at yourself to the sound of my voice, you should start immediately.

WHY DO YOU HAVE TO RUIN EVERYTHING NICE?

Congenital orneriness.

Make it up to the people.

That’s not a bad idea, actually. How about, in honor of the monster peak Trey and his backup band hit last night on Dew, we play possibly the greatest rock and roll peak/climax/skullmelter EVAR?

Which is?

The Who Live at Leeds sparing a smile for an old engine driver.

Yeah, okay: that’s the good shit.

Yeah.

    Wait, are you serious?

Well, her man was gone for nigh on a year. You can understand her transgressions with Ivor the Engine Driver.

In the end, though: she was forgiven. We are all forgiven.

Also, surely someone is planning on recording this, right?

        • thoughtsonthedead

recording what? Live at Leeds? They did that already, man.

      • maggiemay

Alright now I need the help of a kind stranger to give me a link

      • maggiemay

Excellent point. I’ll check on the resident snobs.

The patience Gary and David have with the callers on Tales amazes me. Vultures could take patience lessons from those guys.

Also, you don’t understand Twitter. It’s hard to put stuff into context in only 140 characters–that’s a feature not a bug. It makes it easy for The Perpetually Outraged to take something out of context. It also makes it easy for Folks Who Enjoy Outraging The Perpetually Outraged to post stuff that can easily be taken out of context. You were born for it.

You could be right about Twitter. I just felt icky afterwards.

It’s best to just ignore it, easier said than done but it does get easier. Imagine being an actual celebrity. The awful cesspool that is the Internet Feedback Loop is a disgusting and embarrassing place.

Your live tweets were terrific. You deserve a total body exfoliation from a crew of Swedish stewardesses using Mickey’s brushy drum brushes. I’ll make a reservation.

I guess there’s no point in trying to talk you out of this?

I fear the deflowering of this bloggish oasis

    • thoughtsonthedead

      yeah, it’s gonna get ugly.

here’s the thing, though–and keep it in the comments here–if a bunch of terrible, humorless folks show up, you guys attack the poster and let me defend him, but NO MATTER WHAT I SAY, keep making fun of the fucker.

It’s an old bit, but it’s a good one.

      • cgrand

        I knew I liked you
        break a leg

      • FreedomHaul

Thank you for addressing this shared concern. It’s good to have a plan.
