Musings on the Most Ridiculous Band I Can't Stop Listening To

Basket Case

IMG_2003Hey, Mickey.

“Oh, hey. Didn’t hear you come in.”

Nine people are playing drums, Mick.

And you’re deaf.

“To what do I owe this pleasure?”

Just checking in. What’s this?

“Getting ready for Lockn. Got my band, and Bobby’s gonna play with us.”

Sounds fun.

“Maybe a special guest?”

“How’d you guess?”

Sure as shit wasn’t gonna be Phil.

“Yeah. The relationship’s at a low point.”

You talk to him since Chicago?

“Ran into him at Whole Foods.”

How’d that go?

“Talked about kale.”

Civil, at least.

“No, he was very aggressive about it.”

Interesting. Mick?

What’s in the basket?

“The wicker basket?”

“The wicker basket right in front of me?”

“The wicker basket that caused 70,000 people a night for three nights straight to turn to their friends during Drums and say, ‘What’s with the wicker basket?'”

That one, Mickey, yes. What’s in the basket?

We’re done.

In other news, Happy Veneta Day to all of you who celebrate such things…

“….Mickey, your Vince Welnick life size replica is really creeping me out here….”

  3. Congratulations on the COTD..

I am going to bundle many thoughts in this comment, because ToTD seems to graciously allow some mayhem here.

ToTD, You work hard, I assume, or you are a genius. Perhaps both, thanks for letting us play around in your wake.

I have been catching up on the years of ToTD that I missed. I first came here this year. So just the other day I went back and started at the beginning. I must say that Jan 2012 is very good. I found the first dickpunch post wished I was there when it happened. My advice for newcomers.. start at the beginning read and click next.

    Back to the present:
If this picture in the main post of Mickey in studio is truly from the present time then the rest of the band should note that Mickey has rehearsals !! Rehearsals do not make you uptight corporate clones, and they do not make you uptight Phil Lesh’s … they make things better for everyone involved.

    Please.. rehearse.

Thanks Mickey.. see you at Lockn, when you play the forest, whatever that means.
