I very distinctly remember when I heard the news of Lowell’s death. Standing under a tree, by a tire swing, at Mitchel Field, Long Island, New York. With best friend Jim (RIP), who read the Rolling Stone obit to me.
It was many years later before I realized what a truly tragic loss it was.
That was on killer band, yo.
