Musings on the Most Ridiculous Band I Can't Stop Listening To

Hit You, Katy, Several More Times

“International musical sensation John Mayer speaking.”

“WHERE THAT LI’L HO AT? That Katy Perry bitch! Imma fixin’ to whup her ass back to Canada!”

“Katy’s not Canadian.”

“She will be when I’m done with her! Imma beat that bitch ’til she foreign!”

“Who is this?”

“It’s Britney, bitch.”

“Oh, hey. Did I bang you?”

“I can’t remember. Tell that skank to stop stealing my shit in my town. Vegas is my town I own this shit, yo.”

“How’s the show going?”

“I can’t remember. Listen, just tell your fat girlfriend to mind her manners or I’ll beat her to death with a backup dancer.”

“Okay, okay.”

“Britney, pick a card.”

“Andy Card.”

“George W. Bush’s first Chief of Staff?”

“Where did that come from?”

“My memories run by me like joggers on a rainy morning.”

    That’s Katy Mae!

  2. Is the Steve Silberman who occasionally haunts these pages the same gent who I just heard on Terry Gross talking about his new book on autism? If so, local custom dictates that you owe him some generous blurbing. Nice work Steve! I’m sure it can’t top Skeleton Key, but I’ll get the new one anyway.

    • As someone who really, really liked “Skeleton Key,” I think “NeuroTribes” is a fascinating book, and interesting for many readers. I have some interest in neurology and the history of medical diagnoses, but this is the first book about autism that I’ve read. He’s a good writer, and a really good researcher.

I did meet him once when we were both undergraduates, as a small liberal arts college in the Midwest.
