Musings on the Most Ridiculous Band I Can't Stop Listening To

It’s Come To This

I have been turned into an inspirational Instagram meme.

  1. You should be paid for your writing and that whole page from whence that quote came from should be spread everywhere.

  2. I don’t usually recommend punching people, but if you do need to punch a Nazi use a roll of nickels and proper technique so you don’t break your fingers.

  3. Oh dear…

I remember when Young Maggie had to explain Memes to you.

    Now this..

Is this a good thing, a bad thing, or are you not sure yet?

I do not know you and you are hard to predict, but I suspect that you would rather be called a genius by someone you respect than to become a meme for the masses.

My only wish for you is that you continue to do things you enjoy and are compensated for them so that your life is not a struggle. Hope that your path goes that way.

thanks for what you do. it keeps a lot of sane or at least happily insane. keep your pecker up!

  5. wilbard knows. 2nd’d. I mean just Billy’s ‘we just love to play man’ is top shelf TotD fodder. Don’t get me wrong I dig all the other tangents going on here but there’s just something magical about your posts when you’re poking fun at the Good Ole Grateful Dead or ‘what scarcely remains of them’.

Bless you TotD. You’re a saint!

  6. “According to Ian Kershaw, writing in 1998, the consensus of nearly all historians is that Van der Lubbe did, in fact, set the Reichstag fire.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marinus_van_der_Lubbe

Ian Kershaw is not all that easy to rule out of order, as a historian of that era of world history. Let’s just say that the immediate cause of the event remains controversial, and not imbued with the historical certainty implied by your claim. (Unlike the result that followed, which is indisputable.)

Here’s hoping that you aren’t taking my dissenting viewpoints on this particular matter as intolerable Thoughtcrime; or worse, as Enemy Action. They’re intended to counsel sobriety and sound strategy.

  7. Ironically enough, given my post above in this thread: having done some reading on the incident, I think it’s entirely possible that Richard Spencer staged his own punch-out.

Note: I’ve also done considerable reading on the history of right-wing provocateur terrorism in Italy in the late 1960s and 1970s.
