It’s either death or glory on this sleepy Tuesday: make your choice. Take today by the scruff of the neck, let it know who’s in charge.
Just remember karma, Enthusiasts. Just remember that he who fucks nuns will surely join the church.
Musings on the Most Ridiculous Band I Can't Stop Listening To

Now we’re talking. Giants walked the Earth in there day, and all we have now are just distant shadows.
Everyone thinks of The Clash as punk princes, and they certainly were, but they were a great live band who could really play. I saw them on the London Calling tour at the Fox-Warfield in San Francisco in March 1980, and they absolutely rocked the house. Although their tempos were fast, the songs were pretty far from the album versions, with the great Mickey Gallagher on keyboards joining Joe, Mickey, Paul and Topper.
There was no tour for Sandinista, and by the time Combat Rock came around they were huge and played San Francisco Civic. Still great, of course, but not as intimate and intense as what had come before. And those at the Warfield who had seen the Clash at the Fillmore in ’78 (then called The Elite Club) said it had been even better than ’80, just as it always is.
Old hippies would be well advised to take a close look at Joe Strummer—“do you think it’s funny, turning rebellion into money” from “White Man At Hammersmith Palais.”

My sister went to the Kezar Pavilion show (Kezar Pavilion was the small basketball arena associated with Kezar Stadium in San Francisco). It was 1979, I think. One for the ages, apparently.
Nice, i wasn’t familiar with the Kezar Pavilion. I read somewhere that they spent time in a recording studio in San Fran called The Automatt?
Yes, The Automatt at 827 Folsom. Previously CBS Studios, where the Dead recorded Mars Hotel.

Furthur covered Train In Vain no?
Yes – at least one time maybe more. I saw them do it at Radio City. Took a second for me to figure out what was happening!

Saw them back in the day on the Pier in NYC. St. Joe was challenging the crowd – wild, chaotic and FUN
