A reliable person once told me that prior to punk, the “Glam Rock” persona of one of the Ramones–I think Johnny, but I forget–was “Jeff Starship.” All photos of Jeff Starship were expunged and never referred to. It’s the deep dark secret of the Ramones, that can never be proven.

If baseball rules applied to rock bands, maybe Paul Kantner could have been swapped for Joey Ramone (plus a Drummer To Be Named Later)–Kantner would have enjoyed being Paulie Ramone, and Joey would have livened up the Starship
