The winning streak had to end sometime. This is awful, although I must acknowledge my biases, and admit that no poster featuring tie-dye, horse racing, and those fucking bears would gain my approval.
Anyway, the show’s being webcasted from SPAC tonight; you can buy it if you want.
that is a tremendously awful poster.
wow. fare thee well seems so far behind us now. Thanks Irving, In Live Nation do you trust.
Never thought you’d miss Peter Shapiro, did you?
Which one of the boys refused to participate?
Two of my WORST EVAR music critic experiences occured at SPAC, once reviewing Dave Matthews Band, once reviewing Furthur Festival. Mickey’s band was the highlight of the latter. Nuff said. The horrors of the DMB experience at SPAC are best unremembered. I did get a phoner with Dave. They offered me the bassist first, and I respectfully declined. I think Dave was mad through the whole interview as a result. Shudder.
That phrase you used–“a phoner with Dave”–is the reason I’ve always been able to ride out any desire I had to write about music professionally.
At least I got paid cash money for my phoners. These days, you give a rock star a good phoner and you get paid in “exposure.” Makes it even dirtier.
I think we should follow JES, suggestion and abuse thine, thee and thou, we should speak in the biblical tense.
thee poster is horrible.

Forsooth!
Holy mother of gawd. I spoke too soon about the Camden poster (and those before it). Was there some sort of gigart.com Groupon used?
What is that – the Five Horsemen of the Apocalypse?
And who got dissed and did not get a horsey ride?
