I’ve never seen more of Precarious Lee’s handiwork in one place. This stage setup (from the Dead’s first Giants Stadium show on 9/2/78) goes beyond a lack of interest in the visual aesthetic. This was a deliberate decision.
“How raggedy-assed can it possibly look?” the Dead said.
And the Greatest Roadie of All Time, Precarious Lee, answered, “Gimme an hour.”

Wasn’t sure if you had previously posted this one?
I think that shot might very well have been the first appearance of Precarious Lee.
50 years from now, Dead Heads of the future shall gather and celebrate the first arrival of Precarious.
Spencer has children, perhaps one of them will fly through the room on a lopsided lumpy crooked joint in celebration of Precarious Lee.
Sounds good to me Tor, not sure what my wife thinks of that ideas though.
In both pictures I like how Keith’s monitor on the floor has been, albeit crudely, fastened yet the upside down speaker cabinet directly above the drums just has a brick lodged under it.
