I’m not sure whether to curse you or thank you Spencer. I grew up listening to John D. because my mom really liked him, and she would annoyingly sing along too much.
So I’ve actively avoided his music since the age of 18 or so.
I had a box of her old vinyl records – she doesn’t have a turntable anymore but I do – that has mostly him and I think I sadly put it in the trash.
Had to listen to this though. And thanks to the sanitized lyrics, never again. He had talent, but used it to provide some of the blandest entertainment that ever became popular.
My Mom liked John Denver and the Everly Brothers. I never could get into John though.
